Archival city’s Table-ronde at rendez-vous de l’histoire à blois

Italy has a remarkable archival heritage, which makes it possible to study the history of its cities and regions over the long term. These archives, however, have a history of their own, marked by losses and ruptures that have shaped them and that shape our knowledge of the past. The panel, organized By Giuliano Milani has discussed some of the events that have marked the history of archives and their consequences: the end of the Roman archives, the frequent destruction of municipal archives, the Napoleonic deportations of Italian archives, the dispersion of corporate archives.
